My kids have been known to suffer bouts of PCS (a.k.a. Photographer’s Child Syndrome). Goodness knows you don’t need to be a professional photographer to have children who roll eyes at and/or run away when they see their own Mom or Dad coming with a camera. It can be seriously frustrating. That’s why this tip can work for any family, even when you are just rockin’ your iPhone in between professional sessions.
Go explore someplace completely new and different!
This is exactly what I did with my own family a few weeks ago when my kids were having nothing to do with being photographed at our house. We plopped them in the car and headed to a nearby place I’ve been wanting to check out – The Stevens-Collidge Estate in North Andover. Low and behold, they were so excited just to explore the beautiful surroundings and play, that I was able to capture their (and my husband’s!) authentic joy rather than begging/bribing/nagging them to cooperate. Not only did we bring home digital keepsakes, we clocked in some serious quality time.
I can’t wait to do more of the same.
Where would you like to explore with your own family? Please leave a comment and tell me about it. 🙂
