Why Beaver Brook?

Located in Hollis, NH, Beaver Brook is a nature lover’s paradise. It’s a 1,000-acre conservation area with woodlands, meadows, and some seriously gorgeous trails. Whether you’re a fan of peaceful forests or wide-open fields, there’s no shortage of beautiful backdrops here.

For this session, we were lucky enough to be surrounded by colorful wildflowers—think vibrant daisies, tall grasses, and mustard seed blooms. It made the perfect setting for our shoot, adding bursts of color that complemented the model’s natural beauty. Plus, the sunlight streaming through the trees created a soft, golden glow that made everything look even more magical.

Tips for Your Own Senior Portrait Session at Beaver Brook

Planning your senior portraits at Beaver Brook? Here are a few tips to make sure you get the best photos:

  1. Pick the Right Outfits: Classic neutrals, earth tones, and light pastels work great in natural settings like this. But also, don’t be afraid to show off your personality with something bold or fun—it’s all about YOU!
  2. Time It Right: If you want that dreamy, golden hour look, be sure to schedule your session either early in the morning or an hour or two before sunset. The soft, warm light will make your photos feel extra special.
  3. Get Comfortable with Nature: Don’t worry about getting a little dirt on your shoes or walking through some tall grass. The more you engage with your surroundings, the more relaxed and natural your photos will look.
  4. Bring a Friend or Family Member: If you’re feeling nervous about being in front of the camera, bring along someone you trust. They can help you feel more relaxed, and it can be fun to have someone there to cheer you on. Not to mention its a great opportunity to have mom and dad or a sibling join in for a few shots!
  5. Wear Comfy Shoes: We’ll be walking around to find the best spots, so comfy shoes are a must! You can always bring a pair of cute shoes to change into for the photos.
