We take our Orange very seriously around here. So much so that we rescheduled 17 guests for an earlier Easter Dinner so we wouldn’t miss a minute of last night’s game. Going into the Elite 8 as a 10 seed playing a 1 seed, the odds were not in our favor.
But everyone loves an underdog story.
‘Cuse’s second-half comeback was Easter Miracle material. It goes without saying that there was no shortage of hooting, hollering, and furniture dancing at the Friday household last night. I may have no fingernails left, but we are heading to the Final Four! My Facebook feed has been filled with flashback photos, videos and articles from when Syracuse, also underdogs at the time, made it to the final 4 our sophomore year. I’m in denial that it was (gulp!) 20 years ago, because I can still remember the elation of storming “M street” and hugging every person in site.
All of this excitement reminded me that I never posted photos from our family’s first trip to the Dome this past November. I get emotional looking through these because the campus holds an insanely special place in my heart. To bring our kids back to where we met – to show them the history of us. It doesn’t get any better than that. The underdogs may not have won the game that day, but there was celebrating to do just the same. 🙂
Our mark on the Quad.
A family affair!
We couldn’t leave the next day without teaching the kids how to make cool space sounds by “Stomping the Dome.”
A walk up the (endless) stairs to “The Mount” for old times sake.
And no visit is complete without a little Dinosaur BBQ (It’s a shame I licked my plate clean before I could pull out my camera.)
