How did I not blog this session before now? It’s one of my most favorites ever!

Kim contacted me this past summer to photograph her daughter Emily’s senior portraits.  Emily is graduating from Nashua North this June.  Super exciting!  Sharing many similar interests such as dance and video production, Emily and I clicked right away.  Do you know that Nashua High School South has a TV studio and editing suites that rival what I worked with in college at one of the top communications schools in the country?  I would have died to have access to that kind of technology in high school!  It turns out that her video teacher is a fellow SU Newhouse grad, which proves once again just how small this world is.

Since the rest of the family was also due for professional portraits, they decided to book me for a family session as well!

It was a beautiful night at Gibbet Hill in Groton MA and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the pictures.  Narrowing down such a photogenic family’s images for this blog post was nearly impossible.  The following as some of my favorite captures.

They did such a great job styling their wardrobe with varied textures and complimentary colors.

They even brought along their dog.  How sweet is this moment of 8 year old Lauren and her pup?

Now I have to be honest.  Before meeting Adam, the thought of photographing tween/teen boys scared me.  Maybe it’s because I never grew up with a brother.  I get little boys, no question about that, but I wasn’t sure how boys this age would feel about having their portrait taken.  Adam changed everything for me! He is one of my absolute favorite people to photograph.  I remember coming home from this session and busting through the door to tell my husband, “If our son turns out anything like this kid, we did something right. ” I’ve since gone on to photograph some other awesome young men and I have to say that I really enjoy working with them.
