And so the story goes – The Cobbler’s children have no shoes.

I imagine it’s a familiar tale for most business owners.  While I have good intentions of getting caught up during the slower winter months, my personal photos have a habit of being sucked up into the black hole of to-do list backlog. Before I know it, I’m checking Timehop on my phone and a whole year has passed without sharing my vacation.

So in the spirit of “Throwback Thursday,” I thought it would be fun to share some highlights from my European adventure.  Exactly one year ago today, I arrived in the Netherlands with my Mom to visit my sister who was traveling abroad for the semester.  By far my longest kid-free trip to date, (giant high five to my husband who rocked the Superdad thing at home!) we explored the Netherlands countryside, Paris and Amsterdam.

Since it was my first time visiting Europe in over 20 years, I vowed to spend most of my time eating being rather of documenting, but I was able to get in a few snaps in here and there.  The following are some of my favorite highlights. 🙂

The Kasteel Well Emerson College Campus – They get to live in a real castle.  Not too shabby!

While my sister was in class, my Mom and I leisurely toured around the nearby town of Venlow, Netherlands.  Bikes and flowers are everywhere.

Our next stop was Paris. Paris stole my heart.

We sent my sister back off to school, and my Mom and I continued on to our final destination of Amsterdam. Though one of my favorite sights was watching parents transport their (often multiple!) children on bicycles, I was never able to have my camera handy in time to catch a snap.  I suppose we were a little too busy kicking back and enjoying ourselves. After all, isn’t that what vacation is all about?
