I can’t believe I never blogged this session!  It is certainly one of the most memorable ones I’ve ever been a part of. 🙂

I first photographed Owen when he was a newborn and fell in love with this family right away.  When his mom, Kristin, contacted me a year later to schedule his first birthday portraits at their home, we excitedly planned out the details (turning one is a big occasion, after all!).  We had no idea at the time that there was going to be more to the story.  A week or so before the session, I got a call from Owen’s dad, Dan.  He told me that he wanted to propose to Kristin at the end of our session.  My stomach jumped out of my body!  How exciting to be a part of something like this.  I was such a ball of nerves arriving at their session.  I think I was more nervous than Dan.  For real.

Have I mentioned that I have the best job ever?

He got down on one knee so quickly, it’s a miracle I didn’t miss it.  We later laughed about the fact that Kristin was wondering what on earth Dan was doing, getting down on his knee for a photo.  “Kami never asked you to pose like that!”   Clearly, she was 100% surprised!  Owen reaction in the following photos cracks me up.  He had no idea what had just taken place!

I’ve had so much fun working with this family for the past 2 years and cannot wait to see what the future holds.  Congratulations again, Kristin, Dan and Owen!
