Beaver Brook Association is a beautiful natural light portrait location for a Hollis NH family (or families from any of its surrounding towns!)  It’s one of my favorite places to shoot as the landscape is always changing over the seasons.  This session was shot there this past September.

I first photographed this wonderful family three years ago when their older son turned one.  Both parents, being second children themselves, wanted to ensure that their second child had his own special 1 year old portrait session.  It was important to them that he had his own canvas to display on the wall and his own keepsake album, just like his big brother.  Kudos to you, Mom and Dad!  While we all have good intentions, I know first hand how easy it can be to drop the ball a little bit with baby #2.   While I’m pretty sure I have a photo taken of my belly for every single week of my first pregnancy, for the life of me I cannot remember what my second child’s first word was.  I found an adorable old video of him as a baby recently.  He is saying the word “up” over and over again and not much else, so I’m going with that one.  But for the record, I have no record.

May you head this story as a warning not to give your littlest the shaft.  They deserve to be the star of the show too.
