I have so many fun family sessions that I was never able to blog. I dawned on me that it would be fun to start a new “Throwback Thursday” blog series where each Thursday I showcase one new (old) session. New to you…a nice walk down memory lane for me. 🙂 This shoot took place last summer on Cape Cod after 3 former high school classmates contacted me to photograph their families. They were all gathering for a week at the beach in Dennisport, MA and I jumped at the chance reuniting with some old friends I had not seen in 20 years! The other two families with follow on future Thursdays, but here is a little taste of the Cape Cod sessions.
I’ve lived in New England for most of my life, yet his was one of the strangest weather days I have ever seen. The skies quickly went from clear (and warm) to a full out rain and (freezing cold) hail storm. The hail was so large and fast that it felt like golf balls were being pelted at our heads. We ran inside for cover.
After the storm, we were treated to the kind of light and skies that photographers dream of. It’s something that can never be planned, but when it happens, we go out of our minds if we don’t have our cameras near by. The skies remained dark and the most gorgeous light illuminated the family.
See the white stuff to the left of the stairs? That’s snow! Yet it was hot and sunny minutes later. A session I’ll never forget for sure.
Next up on TBT, we will meet this beautiful family!
