Ever slip into a funk for no apparent reason?

Yeah, me too.

I had one come on something strong this week, and my husband suggested we get everyone out of the house and do something new and spontaneous.  We picked up 2 cheap fishing poles at Walmart and hopped on over to the bait and tackle store (a first!).  Let me interject by saying that the old adage is true – you get what you pay for.  A $12 fishing pole/reel behaves like a $12 fishing pole/reel!  After countless tangles and casting mishaps, let’s just say that an upgrade is in our near future.

Honestly, we expected just to sit around and wait.  We had no idea that there would be endless action!  We caught fish after fish after fish.  If you are ever looking for something fun to do with your kids, head on over to Mine Falls in Nashua.  We went around 6:30pm and hooked one with every cast!

I snapped the following two photos on our way back to the car.  Think they had a good time?

Totally worth keeping them up past their bedtimes on a school night.

And whad’ya know? My funk began to lift.
