Central New York in the summertime is a photographer’s paradise.  It’s filled with farms, fields, wineries, and lakes.  I’m lucky that my in-laws live here and I get to visit often.   This summer’s visit was oppressively hot and humid.  I don’t think the thermometer dipped below 100 degrees.  We would have melted if it weren’t for my father in law’s boat and the cool lake.  The farms and wineries would have to wait.

I love staring at this little moment in time – the unprompted gesture of care between a big sister and a little brother.

and an unbreakable bond between granddaughter and grandmother.

We made lots of lasting memories this trip.

Here’s Maya,  catching some much needed relief thanks to the wind.

Back at the house, my husband and son enjoyed playing piano.  We were treated to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” (which happens to be my husband’s specialty and my son’s favorite) oh…about 200 times.

One of the trip highlights was hiking a nature trail that led to a little waterfall.  You’d think we would learn by now that Max would jump right into the water!  Who needs a bathing suit, anyway?  This is paradise!

My little girl, growing up right before our eyes.

My gorgeous niece and sister in law enjoying the cool water.

Bonding with Popper.

And the perfect goodbye.
